Princess Beatrix

Entry for 's Princess Design Sheet Contest.

This was a lot of fun! And it took up way too much time I should have been devoting to work, but I couldn't resist! I also wanted to show off a couple different hairstyles she'd display and her official princess gown in turning pose, as well as one of her sitting down (to see how awesome that dress would spread out) minus crown and gloves, hair down, a little bit more naturally.

Name: Beatrix, Age 18
19th century, European country

Beatrix is the little sister to the king, excitedly waiting when she is married to a prince in a faraway land and go experience new things and new places. She comes off a bit of a ditz, never had responsibility, a bit boy crazy, wants a road trip (or the olden time equivalent), and focuses on fun. But when her brother dies unexpectedly, she has to face the loss and grow up fast and realize that being stuck at home isn't a tragic ending, but a new beginning and the chance to be someone truly special.

I was inspired to take the idea of Elsa as queen and take it a bit further to focus on the idea of never expecting to rule but then having the destiny come to you, and how you'd step up and realize that your future is your homeland and your people. Also inspired by a lot of queens historically weren't expected to rule and faced a lot of doubt but still stepped up anyway.
